Women's National Teams
The Mexican Lacrosse Federation (FML) maintains two national programs for female athletes. The women's national field team and the women's U-20 field team.
The women's national team most recently placed 15th at the 2022 Women's World Lacrosse Championship in Towson, Maryland, climbing five spots from their previous 20th place finish in 2017.

Our Story
The Mexican Women’s National team made its historic debut in the 2017 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in the United Kingdom under the leadership of former President and Head Coach, Diego Valdivia. The team placed 20th in the tournament, the highest ranking for any Latin American team. In 2019, the U20 Women’s National team made their debut at the 2019 U-20 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup and placed #15. Both of these historic performances paved the path for the incredible playoff run for the senior national team at the 2022 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in Towson, Maryland.
At this event, Team Mexico won its historic inaugural appearance in a World Lacrosse tournament's “Championship Bracket” and ended competition ranked #15 in the world, the highest ranking for a senior team Mexico has ever reached.
2022 Women's World Lacrosse Championship
The Mexico Women’s National team placed in a historic 15th place at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in Towson, Maryland. At the tournament, Mexico positioned themselves well to move on from the group stage into the Championship Bracket with their 8-5 victory over Italy, one of the toughest competitors in Pool F.
El Tri suffered a tough loss against Wales, but bounced back with stunning performances against Israel and Germany. Eventually, Team Mexico handed Hong Kong their final defeat of the tournament, securing 15th place. Bella McCullough, one of the team’s goalies, was named to World Lacrosse’s list of top goalies of 2022, particularly for her 8 saves on 9 shots during the team’s victory against Italy.
